Additional information was taken from U.S. Census enumerations for 1910 (with spouse, children, widowed father, and widowed brother in Lake, Price, Wisconsin) and 1920 (with spouse and children in Lake, Price, Wisconsin;) and Washington, Select Death Certificates, 1907-1960 (giving parents' names as Henry Gropp and Christina Heinz, and spouse's name as Mary Gropp.)
Another contributor has suggested that Mr. Gropp was born in Lincoln, Wood County, Wisconsin. I could confirm only that he was born in Wisconsin.
