He was last employed by the Dorbee Manufacturing Company. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Clear Spring, the Joseph C. Herbert Post No. 222, American Legion of Clear Spring, the Fleet Reserve Association and the Washington County Taxpayers Association.
Besides his father, he is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Tedrick King; son, James M. King, at home; one stepson, Dennis L. Duffey, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Lois McAllister and Mrs. Tirsa Stottlemyer, both of Halfway; Mrs. Elsie Whitemore, Hagerstown; and Mrs. Viola Wade, Trego; three brothers, George and Harold King, both of Hagerstown; and Charles King, Hancock.
Services were held at the Thompson Funeral Home, Clear Spring. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery.
