Marian Ray "Sis" Atherton, 85, of Livermore, Kentucky died Monday, October 12, 2015, at Riverside Manor in Calhoun, KY. She was born on September 14, 1930 to the late Beverly and Nell Wilson. She and her husband owned Atherton Store & Kountry Korner Restaurant for many years. She had also been employed by Houchen Industries. She was a member of Buck Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Howard Dennis Atherton; and brothers, Dale Wilson, Wayne Wilson and Jerry Wilson.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Horace W. "Toad" Atherton; a son, Horace W. Atherton, Jr. of Calhoun, KY; daughters, Nora Jean "Jeanie" Atherton of Benton, KY and Elaine Atherton (Phil) of Livermore, KY; grandchildren, Jeffery Bowman, Darrell Bishop, Daniel Bishop, Shannon Render, Chad Atherton and Chelsea Atherton; several great grandchildren; brothers, William Dean Wilson (Bernita) of Louisville, KY and B.J. Wilson of Owensboro; and sisters, Shirley Troutman (Jake) of Utica, KY and Faye Love of Jacksonville, FL.
Services are 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Buck Creek Baptist Church. Burial is in Utica Cemetery in Utica, KY. Visitation is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at James H. Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Owensboro and after 12:00 noon on Wednesday at the church.
