Dovey Malinda (Huffman) Bowman is the daughter of George Washington & Leah Elizabeth (Klutts) Huffman. She was their first child and she has a brother, Rowan Columbus Huffman. Another brother, Ganes Huffman died on 14 Feb 1895.

She also has half siblings from her father's side, he married her stepmother, America M. Bowman and they had: James Levi, Carroll Monroe, Charlie Washington, William J., and Emma Matilda (Weston) Huffman.

On April 28, 1874 Dovey married George W. Bowman in Barry County, Missouri.

They had 9 children: Marion T., Henry J., America Ann (Wright), Joseph Adolphus, Charlie M., Ella (Rogers), Ida Evie (Scott), Maggie Jane (Douglas), and Mattie (Marler & Royster) Bowman.

She died at Maggie's, her daughter's home.
