Actor, Director. He is best remembered for his role of casino owner and playboy 'Carlos Ramirez' in the ABC television sitcom "The Flying Nun." Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina he studied acting under Hedwig Schlichter and Milagros de la Vega and became known as an actor in Argentine movies. In 1957 he participated in the film "El Diablo de vacaciones," directed by Ferruccio Cerio. In 1960 he began working with actress Ana Casares forming the main couple of the television program "Maria Trastorno y yo", but within three months production had to be interrupted, after he was hired in the US for a small role in "Battle at Bloody Beach," with Audie Murphy. In 1960 he emigrated to the US and was featured in an uncredited role in "Fun in Acapulco" (1963, with Elvis Presley), followed in 1965 by "Synanon" and "Blindfold." In 1967 he was cast in ABC Television sitcom "The Flying Nun" with Sally Field, that aired until 1970 and became an international success. After "The Flying Nun" was cancelled, he occasionally appeared in films, including "The Sandpit Generals" (1971) "The Stepmother" (1972), "Mr. Majestyk" (1974), "Breakout" (1975), "The Swarm" (1978), "Cuba" (1979), "The Ninth Configuration" (1980), "Moscow on the Hudson" (1984), and "TerrorVision" (1986). His other television credits include "Perry Mason," "Daniel Boone," "Route 66," "The Fugitive," "Gunsmoke," "Kung Fu," "Days of our Lives," "The Love Boat," "Santa Barbara," "The A Team", and "Dallas." He was also a frequent panelist on the daytime television shows "Tattletales" and "The Match Game." His television director credits include "Villa Allegre," "The Facts of Life," and "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman." He died in Los Angeles, California from lung cancer at the age of 57.
