Born October 12, 1924 in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Olive (Buck) Eichenlaub. Her husband, Paul C. Burkholder, died January 3, 1981.
A graduate of Muncy High School, Betty was employed for many years at the GTE Sylvania photo flash plant in Montoursville. She later spent several years working as a caregiver to senior citizens in need of assistance.
Betty enjoyed playing cards with her friends in the Muncy Card Club. She also spent lots of time gardening and was a talented cook, baker and seamstress. Betty deeply loved her family, and was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Surviving are two sons, Edward L. (Janet) Burkholder of Oro Valley, Arizona, and Bryson P. (Jeanne) Burkholder of Clarkstown; one daughter, Rebecca J. (Jim) Houser of Muncy; one sister, Lucille (Robert) Campbell of Muncy; three grandchildren, Alicia (David) Laudermilch of Palmyra, Ian Wertz of Muncy, and Carissa Houser of Williamsport; and four great-grandchildren, Emily and Thomas Laudermilch, Lexis Inners and Jacob Wertz.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Ann Wertz; two sisters, Beatrice Anderson and Madeline Sheets; and six brothers, Donald, Benton, Milnor, Marvin, Joseph and John Eichenlaub.
