Richard “Rick” “Doc” Freeman, 67, of Bloomington, passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born December 12, 1947 in Greene County to Virgil and Thelma (Wall) Freeman. He worked as a truck driver for 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, camping and gardening.
Richard is survived by his children, Julie Daniel and Alan (Teresa) Phillips, both of Bloomington, and Leeann Hupp (Denny Orick) of Panama City Beach, FL; a step-son, Shawn Robertson (Melissa) of Bloomington; siblings, Durward (Janice) Freeman of Bloomington, Judy (Ron) Freeman of Spencer, Patty Freeman of Bloomington, Becky Freeman of Bedford, Ronnie Freeman of Solsberry, and Lisa (Kevin) Anderson of Bedford; five grandchildren, Jason and Matthew Daniel, Chelsea Phillips, Cloee and Connor Hupp; and two great grandchildren, Jennifer and Piper Daniel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two wives, Melinda (Carpenter) Freeman and Susan (Robertson) Freeman.
Funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at West & Parrish Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Brother Jimmie Durnil and Pastor Randy McCollum will officiate. Burial will follow at Gross Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
