Mr. Hurst was an Army National Guard veteran and a member of First Baptist Church in Horn Lake, MS. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Coats Hurst of Southaven; two daughters, Andrea Hurst Staggs and her husband, Michael of Olive Branch, MS and Stacey Hurst Bennett and her husband, Jason of Bartlett, TN; one granddaughter, Samantha Woods of Olive Branch; two sisters, Helen Newman of Jackson, TN and Earnestine Reed of St. Louis, MO; two brothers, Robert Jones of Ripley, TN and Jerry Dale Jones of Brighton, TN; stepmother, Christine Hurst of Paris, TN; and one stepbrother, Gerald Hurst of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Odean and Martha Jones; father, Paul E. Hurst; one brother, Adrian Jones; and one stepsister, Geraldine Hurst. Visitation will be Friday, July 3 from 10 a.m. until the service begins at 11:30 a.m. at Twin Oaks Funeral Home in Southaven. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens in Southaven.
