James Wiley Farr, 84, died Monday, November 29, 1999, at Terrance Garden Care Center in Garden City, Kansas.
He was born March 26, 1915, at ElKader, the son of James Wiley and Ida Mae (Patton) Farr. A lifetime resident of Scott County, moving from ElKader in 1938, he was a farmer.
On September 28, 1938, he married Dorothy May Beach at Russell Springs. She died July 27, 1990, at Wichita. He was also preceded in death by a son, Everett; a grandson; two brothers; and four sisters.
He is survived by two sons, Marvin J. Farr and Howard M. Farr, both of Scott City; three granddaughters; a grandson; two brothers, C.T. Farr, Wichita, and Francis "Sam" Farr, Oberlin; three sisters, Mattie Mathes, Cordelia Allen and Lena Russell, all of Scott City; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral was held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 2nd, at Price & Sons Funeral Home, Scott City, with Rev. Lynne Smith officiating. Burial was at Scott County Cemetery, Scott City, Kansas.
