A.C. Clark, known to most of us as “Uncle Cam,” was born in Putnam County, Indiana, October 16, 1838, and died August 6, 1920. He was married to Nancy Bly December 11, 1859 who still survives him. To this union fourteen children were born, seven of which are still living. The seven who survive are Will, of Selah, Wash. ; Harve, of Estherville, Iowa; Carrie Mills, of Dallas Center, Iowa; Loma Kinney, of Des Moines, Iowa; Clarence, of Coe, Colo. ; Addie Guise, of Brewster, Kansas; and Belva Schlaigel, of Des Moines. Besides the wife and seven children are left 29 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren to mourn his death. Mr. Clark united with the Christian church while a young man. Although he was not a man who attended a great deal, he lived in such a way that he was loved and respected by all who knew him. (Dallas County Record, Adel, IA. August 11th, 1920)
