Daughter of Alexis James Marcil from Canada and Marie Lucena Bouchard from Vermont


Ena Marcil Senior, 94, 1530 Indiana Ave, (802 South), former president of the Utah State Chapter of PEO Sisterhood, died of natural causes Thursday in a Salt Lake Hospital.

A member of the Seeker's Literary Club and the Federation of Women's Clubs, Mrs. Senior also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Radiant Chapter 12. She was a past Worthy Grand Matron of Utah for the Order of Eastern Star.

She was a former president of the Edison Elementary School, PTA.

Mrs. Senior served as president of the Utah State Baptist Convention and was a member of the board of Managers for many years.

She was born Feb. 22, 1873, in Mattoon, Ill., to Alexis and Lucena Bushorr Marcil. She was married to Edwin W. Senior, Jan. 2, 1898, in Salt Lake City. He died Aug. 29, 1959.

Her survivors include one son and one daughter, Raymond T. Salt Lake City; Mrs. Warren F.(Ruth) Lewis, Los Angeles; stepdaughter, Mrs. Robert McDowell, Salt Lake City; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Masonic Temple where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Family suggests donations may be made to Westminister College or EStar L. Fund of the Order of Eastern Star.
