Richard H. Zimmer went home to our heavenly father on Sunday, January 20, 2013 after a lengthy illness at the age of 72. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA. on March 17, 1940.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Zimmer; his mother and step dad, Angeline and Robert Swetkis; his brother Bob; nephews, Bobby Zimmer and Michael Miller. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Rosemarie; his children, Judith Zimmer; Richard, Jr. (Leticia), Deborah Baldwin (Jack) and three grandchildren, Rene' Hernandez and Ashley and Katherine Zimmer; Brother, Ronald and sisters, Patsy and Pearl and many nieces and nephews.

He was a founding member of St. Matthews Catholic Church. He had been active in the CCD program, Parish Council, Lector and Commentator and the ACTS program. He worked in real estate and other sales. He was retired from the U.S. Navy.

SERVICES

Visitation followed by the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:30 PM at St. Matthews Catholic Church on Friday, January 25th. The Mass of Resurrection will be at 9:30 AM at St. Matthews 10703 Wurzbach Road on Saturday, January 26th. Interment following at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers family request donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Society St. Matthews or to the charity of your choice .
