Rory Douglas Hill of Bremerton

Rory, also known to his family as Doug, passed away Monday, June 28, after a short battle with cancer. Rory was born and raised in Bremerton and attended Central Kitsap schools.
He also attended Olympic College, becoming an automotive technician. He was employed at Firestone for many years. Rory was a molder on the repair ship USS Hector during the Vietnam era from Jan. 1974 to Apr. 1977.
Rory was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors. He married Connie Rae Dec. 9, 1984.
Rory is preceded in death by his father, Carl Hill and one brother.
He is survived by his mother Emma Hill, his sister Melva both of Bremerton and brothers Carl David (Sharon) and Ronald (Janice) of Gig Harbor and his friend, partner, and wife Connie Rae and 4 children: Cassie Jo Hill, Candy Bridges, Jamie Sloan and Elizabeth Hamilton. And 8 grandchildren; Shayna, Sarah, Snyper, Chelsi, Mackenzie, Logan, Preston, and Justina.
A memorial will be held at Tracyton United Methodist Church, 5153 Naomi Street, at 3 p.m. Monday, July 5th.
Rory donated his body to medical research and his cremains will be interred at Zillah Cemetery.
