Alvin F. Streubel, 39, former resident of Two Rivers, died Monday evening of a heart attack at St. Joseph-Lloyd Hospital at Menominee, Mich. Mr. Streubel was born June 22, 1920, at Two Rivers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul E. Streubel. He was graduated from Washington High School, Two Rivers, in 1937 and became an apprentice funeral director and embalmer, first at the Beduhn Funeral Home and then at Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers. In 1939, he became a time engineer at Hamilton Mfg. Co., Two Rivers, and in 1943 he took over the same job at Eggers Mfg. Co., Two Rivers. He married the former Grace Nagel Sept. 20, 1941, at Two Rivers. Mr. Streubel joined the Army in 1945 and was stationed at the separation center at Fort Sheridan, Ill. He was discharged six months later and went back to Eggers Mfg. Co. as a time engineer. In 1950, he moved to Rockford, Ill., where he became time engineer for Menasha Woodenwear Co. He moved to Coleman, Wis., in 1953 and became plant manager of Chadwick Mfg. Co. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, past president of the Coleman-Pound Lions Club, a member of the Kalbes-Seewald American Legion No. 280, and a member of the Society for the Advancement of Management. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Karen, Karla, and Kristi at home; parents, two brothers, Paul of Manitowoc and Timothy with the U.S. Navy; and two sisters, Mrs. Byron Batchelder of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Joseph Machinski of Chicago. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Nikki.
Friends may call at Rhodes mortuary, Coleman, after 2 p.m. Wednesday until 10 p.m. Wednesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday when the body will be moved to Klein and Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers.
