Marvin Glenn Reeves age 83 went home to be with his heavenly Father, Friday
Oct. 9, 2015 at Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville. He was born Dec. 22, 1931 in Surry County, NC to the late Austin and Ruie Faw Reeves. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his spouse Betty McFall Reeves, grandson, William Russell East, Jr., and by seven brothers Otto, Uriah, Elbert, Austin, Sidney, Raymond and Jack Reeves.

Mr. Reeves was an active member of Fairway Baptist Church, and was instrumental in the building of the new church. He was a graduate of Mt. Airy H.S. class of 1949. He joined the U.S. Army, and served two tours of duty in Korea during the War years. For his service he was promoted to SGT, received the Korean Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Combat Infantryman Badge, United Nations Service Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was also retired from Miller Brewing with
15 years of service.

He is survived by one son, Curtis Reeves of Greensboro, two daughters, Wanda Bennett of Collinsville and Sharon East of Patrick Springs, one brother, Donald Reeves of Henry, seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be Monday Oct. 12, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Roselawn Chapel with Pastor Kirk Montgomery officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with military honors by the Martinsville Henry County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday Oct.11, 2015 in the Chapel at Roselawn.
