Daughter of William Armstrong and Mary Ann Brainard of Port Byron,Rock Island county,Illinois.
Sarah's mother died between 1844 and 1846 when William remarried to Fanny McClure.
Sarah married Alfred T. Mead on March 22 1868 in Port Byron,Illinois.
They spent most of their married years in Story County,Iowa.
She died at the home of her son Alfred G. Mead in West Virginia,although her DC states she is buried in West Virginia,the WPA survey has her with her husband in Iowa.
