BIO: DiAnne Estelle O'Keefe Carter, 69, of Hinesville died Friday, May 13, 2011 at Hospice of Savannah after a courageous battle with cancer. DiAnne was born in Savannah to the late Tommye Lou Anderson O'Keefe and Herbert A. O'Keefe, Sr. and lived most of her life in Hinesville. She was a Registered Nurse and served in many positions, most recently as a school nurse with the Liberty County Board of Education. She served as a youth leader and Sunday school teacher for many years at the Hinesville First United Methodist Church. She volunteered in the community with many different organizations including the Liberty County Board of Health and the Liberty County Recreation Department.

SERVICE: Visitation will be on 5:00-7:00p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral service will be on 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow at Oglethorpe Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to the Fraser Counseling Center 203 Mary Lou Drive Hinesville, GA 31313 or the American Cancer Society 1599 Clifton Road, N.E. Atlanta, GA 30329.
