1936-2015
Sally Ann Hill, born June 30, 1936, passed away peacefully October 8, 2015. She was born in Versailles, PA to the late Karl and Anna Ehlers. She was preceded in death by Kenneth F. Hill, the love of her life of 48 years, their infant son, Christopher, her grandson, Justin Hill, brother, Rothe Weimer and sister, Katharyn Sutton.
She is survived by her children, Natalie (David) Turner, Wade Hill, Lisa (Steve) Buchanan, all of Pensacola; grandchildren, Michael (Heather) Hill, Christopher (Elisabeth) Turner, Paul (Angela) Turner, Brenda Hill, Dustin Hill, Emly (Daniel) Clark, Jeff Buchanan, Sara Buchanan, Max Buchanan, Kate Buchanan, and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Madeline, Sophia & Justin Turner, Ronan & Jude Clark, and Haley & Trevor Arnold.
She was a caring , compassionate lady. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, grow flowers & plants and cook. She was known for her Red Velvet Cake made from scratch.
She was a member of the Fleet Reserve Branch 22 for 40 years. She was also a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and a teacher’s aide for Escambia County schools for 14 years. She was a H2U Volunteer for 14 years at West FL Hospital in the surgical waiting room and was a member of TOPS for 8 years.
Sally made friends everywhere she went.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the caring staff at West Florida Hospital & Covenant Hospice for the care they provided. Donations may be made in Sally’s memory to Covenant Hospice.
Pallbearers will be be David Turner, Steve Buchanan, Christopher Turner, Paul Turner, Jeff Buchanan and Max Buchanan.
Visitation will be be Friday, October 16, 2015 from 9:30 am until the 10:30 am funeral service at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Interment will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery.
