She was born in Middlebury Nov. 20, 1953, the daughter of Ernest and Harriet (Jackson) Gorton.
She was a 1971 graduate of Middlebury Union High School.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, music and typing.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Chambers of Springfield; three sisters, Joyce Gorton of Middlebury, Pamela Rougier of Addison and Brenda Shackett of Brandon; two brothers, James Gorton of Bridport and Jerry Gorton of Brandon; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association of Vermont, 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester, VT 05446.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home.
