Stanley George "Buck" Fisher, 55, beloved brother, uncle, grandpa, zozo and nephew has returned to his heavenly father and is reunited with his family members passed on before him on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from a heart attack in Boise, Idaho.Buck was an enrolled member of the Shoshone- Bannock Tribes of the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho on July 24, 1960. He is preceded in death by both his parents, Eunice Farmer Fisher and George G. Fisher. Buck was a member of the Native American Church. He lived in the Ross Fork area on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, Fort Hall,Idaho.Buck attended Fort Hall Elementary, Blackfoot Junior High, Blackfoot High School temporarily before transferring to Sho-Ban Alternate School in Fort Hall where he graduated. He then attended and graduated from United Tribes College in Bismarck, North Dakota. This is where he met and married Geraldine FightsOver and together they made their home in Fort Hall. Buck and Geraldine raised her niece and several nephews however there were no children to this union they later divorced. Buck worked in Fort Hall at the Elderly Complex as the groundskeeper/manager and supervisor, a certified flagger, he was also one of the first Bingo floor workers for Sho-Ban Gaming High Stakes Bingo, when it was still held at Timbee Hall. Uncle Buck was also a darn good mentor to many of his nieces, nephews and friends on and off the pow-wow trail. Buck enjoyed playing Bingo, basketball, volleyball and various other activities. He also enjoyed drawing, beading, making men's traditional staffs and bustles, loved traveling to powwows throughout the northwest singing with his very own drum groups Buffalo Horn Singers & the Buffalo Horn Juniors as well as other drum groups. He liked visiting with old friends and making new ones. He enjoyed singing for the sundances and sweats ceremonies , he had knowledge of these ways, and he also liked to help build the lodges. Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Farmer Fisher and George G. Fisher; grandparents, Ollie and Minnie Snipe Farmer and Ruth Burt Fisher and Soldierboy; uncles, Davis, Vernie, Charles, Walker and McCarty Farmer; aunt, Marietta Farmer Teton; brothers, Saud "Tucky" Fisher, Daniel B. "Sonny" Evening Jr, Edward T. Johnson Jr, Ronnie Evening, Delbert, Deloyd, Curtis, Wade and Blaine Farmer; sisters, Sharlene Wolfchild and Roseanne Short; nephews, Travis Honena, Gary Farmer Jr, Jordan O. Farmer , Ellery Navo and Lorenzo (Guy) Fisher; grandson, Baby Boye Teton; and Joey Edward RunningHorse and Cullen "Chepa" RunningHorse.Buck is survived by his sisters, Glenice E. Teton of Gibson, Idaho and Brenda L. Evening of Fort Hall, Idaho; brothers, Mervin & Al Nathan Fisher of Blackfoot, Idaho; sisters, Virgilena Fisher and Anita Gonzalez both of Blackfoot, Idaho; uncles, Joseph (Verla) Farmer Sr and Kenneth George; aunts, Ivy Waterhouse and Joyce George Leon; cousins, Charlotte Tendoy, Larry Farmer, Gary Farmer Sr and Dora Farmer; numerous nieces; nephews; grandchildren; and great grandchildren. Buck will be take to Ross Fork Community Center at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2015 and remain there until a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Ave in Blackfoot. He will begin his final journey home with Traditional Native American Services that will be held beginning with a sunrise ceremony, traditional burial will then take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 12, 2015 at the Ross Fork Cemetery.
