George Paul Bowman, 68, of Lower Licking Road, Morehead, passed away Friday afternoon, September 11, 2015 in the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington after a brief illness.

He was born April 25, 1947 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late William "Bill" and Ruth Martin Bowman.

George Paul was the owner and operator of D & E Mill Supply and was a member of the Bluebank First Church of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a graduate of Rowan County High School where he played basketball and baseball and attended Morehead State University where he played baseball.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his son, George Paul Bowman II in 1998 and his father-in-law Ted Moore.

Survivors include his wife Diana Moore Bowman, one son, Michael Bowman of Morehead. Four grandchildren, Sean Bowman, Jake Bowman, John Bowman and Blake Bowman. Also his mother-in-law, Edith Moore of Morehead.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2015 in the chapel of the Michael Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Jeff Fannin officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home-Morehead is after 6;00 P.M. Monday.

Pall bearers will be Jake Bowman, Michael Bowman, John Bowman, Tim Stevens, Shane Stevens, Rick Smallwood, Paul Conn and Phillip Swim.

Honorary bearers will be Sean Bowman, Kenny Lewis, close frienda and all his customers past and present.
