We know very little about Elizabeth's short and tragic life. Born in Colorado, her family moved to Ely, Nevada, where her mother died in 1908, just before Elizabeth's third birthday. Apparently, Elizabeth was an only child.

When Elizabeth was four, she traveled with her father (and perhaps other family members) to SLC. Her father was a musician who traveled quite a bit, but their reason for being in SLC is unclear. After a couple of months, she took ill and died. Her death certificate states the cause of death as simple meningitis. Family lore has it that Elizabeth died as a result of an accident in which she fell while walking on a picket fence. These are not mutually exclusive causes, but all the facts are unknown at this time.

She is listed in Cemetery records with the middle initial "S" which appears to be an error.
