Charles T. Brunner, 88, of Hummelstown, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2015, in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Watts on October 24, 1926, he was the son of the late Samuel W. and May Weldon Brunner.

Charles was a carpenter for the former Bethlehem Steel Company. Charles was a very active member of Grace United Methodist Church, Hummelstown. He enjoyed bowling and gardening.

Charles is survived by his wife of 71 years, Arlene E. Bricker Brunner, whom he married on May 15, 1944; four daughters, Maxine E. McNaughton wife of Harold G., Peggy A. Linnane, Judith E. Hupfer wife of Jack C. and Bonnie S. Cobaugh wife of Warren P. all of Hummelstown; two sons, Terry L. Brunner husband of Bille Ann of New Cumberland, and Thomas C. Brunner of Hershey; a sister, Daisy Cassel of Palmyra; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and eight great-great-great grandchildren with another on the way.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Raye Brunner; two brothers, George and James Brunner; and two sisters, Ellen Messimer and Pearl Frye.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at 11 AM in the Grace United Methodist Church, 433 East Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Chuck Deshong of First United Methodist Church, Hershey, officiating. Interment will be in Dellville Union Cemetery. Viewings will be held on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 6 to 8 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, and again on Tuesday in the church from 10 AM until time of the services.
