Richard was born to Sir Thomas Cecil, 1st Earl of Exeter and Dorothy Neville. A web site for historicengland.org.uk reveals towards bottom of the home page that Richard is buried here in a chest tomb to left of altar c.1633, probably incorporating an Easter sepulchre. Richard was married to Elizabeth Cope and children believed to be named to them are, David Cecil (1604-1643), Elizabeth (1608-1633) and Edward Cecil (1610-1633).
