NELL RUTH SHELTON, 85 years old, of Huntington, widow of Harry Vinson Shelton, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday October 7, 2014. She was born September 25, 1929, in Dayton, Ohio. Nell is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and John Hovey; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Chapman, John and Jill Chapman, Diane Runyon, Greg Thompson; and a dear family friend, Bruce Powers. Special thanks and gratitude to the third floor staff and therapists at Heritage Center Genesis Health Care for their kindness, compassion, and love shown to her during her five-year stay at the center. Nell is retired from J C Penney Co. and is a member of Central Freewill Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014, at Chapman's Mortuary, with Pastor Steve Williams of Central Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Cabell and Wayne County Association of the Blind. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Friday at Chapman's Mortuary.
