Silverton – Caroline Stevenson, 98, passed away peacefully February 13, 2015. She was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Titus and Pauline (Weber) Ferstel, one of two daughters. She learned the lessons of life when at a very young age her parents died. Caroline was raised with her sister in Canada and would later move to Nampa, Idaho, where she joined the Sisters of Mercy Convent and became a Novice. During her time in Nampa she attended college gaining her degree in bookkeeping. She later moved from Nampa to Caldwell where she worked for the Canyon County Courthouse for many years. While raising her two children, Caroline enjoyed life. She loved her family and enjoyed expressing her creativity through painting. Caroline also enjoyed gardening, loved animals, was an avid political enthusiast, was excellent with needlework, making many afghans and crocheting for her children and many grandchildren, and was a master seamstress.
Caroline moved to Silverton in 1999 to be near her children. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church of Silverton.
Caroline is survived by, her son, Paul (Mary) Dunbar, daughter, Carol (Victor) Fink, and many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Helen and husband, Earl Stevenson.
Memorial Mass will be at 1pm, Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church. Arrangements by Unger Funeral Chapel.
