She remained very active until the end of her life. Bessie loved to play pinocle, bridge and bunko which she did three and four times a week. Although she no longer drove, family members enjoyed taking her to her games. She enjoyed her friends and loved parties and family get-togethers. She also went to the casino once a month and generally came home with some of their money.

She especially enjoyed the holidays and had decorations for all occasions. Her home was always festive and inviting. During the Christmas season she would be busy making all kinds of candy, peanut brittle, divinity, almond rocha, and popcorn balls. She would give all her family and friends tins and dishes that were full of these wonderful treats. Her love of cooking and crafts and also teaching her grandchildren to make different dishes and, of course, her signature candies were her favorite things to do.

During the last fifteen years, she loved to sit around the fire pit with family and friends and watching the great grandchildren driving around the property on the golf cart, motorcycles and quad year-round, rain or shine. She loved shopping with her granddaughters.

"Granny" was always quick with giving a hug and a kiss to all.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
