Bobby was born in Chester County, Tennessee on July 13, 1932. He moved to Jackson in 1943 and attended Jackson City Schools. He enlisted in the US Army National Guard and served for 18 years. He worked for Canalco, and retired as lieutenant from the Madison County Sheriff's Department.
Bobby became active in the Miss Tennessee Pageant serving on the field committee, sound chairman, Director of Security, and on the Board of Directors.
Bobby was also a member of the Jackson Masonic Lodge #45, Scottish Rite, and he was also a Shriner. He was also a longtime member of First Christian Church where he served as a deacon and most recently, on the board of trustees. He met Phyllis Jane Milligan when he was in the hospital and she was his nurse. They married and adopted their daughter, Margaret Jane Hudson Harrison when she was six weeks old.
They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on November 14, 2004 and Mrs. Hudson passed away in 2005. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. William Malcolm and Lonnie Earl Hudson; and two brothers, Bill and Dickie Hudson. He is survived by his daughter, Margaret Jane Hudson Harrison (Jonathan); granddaughters, Rachel Van Hook (Chuck) and Julie Cartwright (Scott); five grandchildren, Kennedy, JulieAnne, and Amelia Van Hook and Kylie and Ryland Cartwright; and a sister, Ramona Butler.
The family will receive friends on Friday evening, October 9, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. in the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. Funeral services for Bobby will be conducted on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons with interment following in Hollywood Cemetery.
