I have fought the good fight I have run the race to the finish; I have kept the faith; Michael David Hebert after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2015 at the age of 67 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 28, 1947 in Baton Rouge. He was a devoted husband, dedicated father, adoring pawpaw, loving brother and brother-in-law, and a friend to all who knew him.

He enjoyed a wonderful childhood growing up as the third of five children in the home of his parents Charles and Lillian Hebert, where his legacy of "family comes first" began. Mike attended St. Gerard Elementary school where he first met his beloved wife, Brenda Acosta Hebert. He graduated from Catholic High School. He retired from ISC.

Together Mike and Brenda demonstrated to all the true meaning of family and love, such that many aspire to follow their example. He cherished time spent with his children, embraced their spouses fully as his own children and completely adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed many adventures at the old Hebert's store, the False River camp, the White Vine hunting camp, annual trips with his family and friends to Orange Beach, Alabama, a good card game, relaxing on his back porch, celebrating all the niece/nephew birthdays or special events which occurred almost every weekend, and attending grandchildren's school/sports events.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda; son, Michael ''David'' Hebert (Carmen); daughter, Lori Hebert Kimbrell, (Mike); grandchildren, Cade and Charli Kimbrell, Carson and Caroline Hebert; his siblings, Carolyn Jordan, Charles Hebert (Patsy), Mark Hebert (Carolyn), and Mary Hebert (Dennis); brother-in-law, Sam Moran; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. Hebert, Jr. and Lillian Hebert; brother-in-law, Frank Jordan; and sister-in-law, Margaret Moran.

The family request that visiting hours be observed on Friday, October 9, 2015 at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home, 11817 Jefferson Highway from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Ligouri Catholic Church, 14040 Greenwell Springs Rd. from 10:30 AM until the time of services.

Interment will take place at Resthaven Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
