The bodies of the wife and two children of J. P. Christensen, who committed suicide here August 26, arrived from Cripple Creek, Colo., Thursday morning and this morning will be laid to rest in Mt. Olivet Cemetery by the side of the husband and father. Short funeral services will be held at O'Donnell's undertaking parlors this morning.
Christensen committed suicide by taking morphine, because of despondency over the death of his wife last January, disease having ravaged the home of two little children previusly to the mother's death. Christensen also suffered losses in the dairy business at Cripple Creek, and his wife's death threw him into a gloom from which he never emerged. With the remaining five children he came to this city for a visit with his sister-in-law, Mrs. F. Madsen, several weeks ago. He had made full preparations to return to Cripple Creek upon the morning he destroyed his life.
Christensen often said he wished to die. It was his request that the bodies of his wife and children be disinterred at Cripple Creek and removed here.
