Ms. Vaughn, 74, of Nashville, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. A funeral service was held Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the chapel of Young Funeral Home, with Hoyt Kirk officiating. Burial was at Craig Cemetery on Lick Creek. She was born in Perry County, the daughter of the late James O.T. Vaughan and Matilda Scott Vaughn. She received her education in Perry County Schools. She worked for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health before relocating to Los Angeles, California. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Efrem Vaughn; a great granddaughter, Andriauna Tucker; sisters, Gwendolyn Jones, Dora Jones, and Melvina Yarbrough; and brothers, Dewey, Valentine, and L.L. Vaughn. Survivors include her husband of fifty-nine years, Joe Brown Vaughn, Sr.; a daughter, Yulonda Tucker of Nashville; sons, Timothy (Sheliah) Sanders of Georgia, Dan Vaughn and Joe B. Vaughn, Jr., both of Nashville, and Cordell Vaughn of Henning; twenty-two grandchildren; thirty-four great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Margret Vaughn; brothers-in-law Charles Vaughn and Jimmy (Shirley) Vaughn; a devoted niece, Wanda Vaughn of Linden; devoted friends Rudy and Blanche Joyner; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
