Barry A. McKinney, 52, of Maumee, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2015, after a short battle with cancer.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1963, in Brookville, a son of the late Twila and James McKinney.

He grew up in Knox, Pa., and later moved to Punxsutawney at age 14.

In his free time, he enjoyed returning to Punxsutawney to visit the Brooks family farm, where he spent time at "his rock" deer hunting. He worked as a "master driller" at Stoneco Inc. quarry for 16 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Pia Pier (Lawrence); a son, Chad (Rachel); a grandchild on the way; a daughter, Adrian; siblings Sara Master, Rick (Von) Shook, Pam (John) Vickers, Jan (Denny) Archer, Kevin McKinney and Judy (Dave) Henry; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Twila (Doutt) and James McKinney; and his beloved dog, Sparky.

Please join us in celebrating the life of Barry on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant St., Maumee, OH.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m.

Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551.
