Vivien Ayotte

NORWAY—Vivien A. Ayotte, 94, of Vulcan, formerly of Norway, died Friday, Jan. 16, 1998, at her home.

Mrs. Ayotte was born July 7, 1903, in Maplewood, Wis., daughter of the late Patrick and Ada (Heald) Hayes. She graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1921.

Mrs. Ayotte attended Marquette Normal School, Ferris State Institute in Big Rapids and National College in Evanston, Ill. She taught elementary school in Menominee County, including Hermansville, Carney, Nadeau, Stephenson, Wallace and then Temperance, lower Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Guy Ohman, in 1973.

She married William Ayotte on Oct. 1, 1981, in Spalding. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1997.

Mrs. Ayotte was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway, Michigan Education Special Services Association (MESSA) and the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.

She leaves a sister-in-law, Glada Hayes of Norway; several nieces and nephews, and her special friends, Jean and Larry Stone of Vulcan and Burt and Carmen Young of Gladstone.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Gene, Charles and Clifford Hayes, and six sisters, Euphrasia Younk, Mae Cronick, Winnie Kelly, Dorothy Early, Genevieve Hayes and Patricia Weber.

Visitation will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Miner Funeral Home in Norway.

Prayers will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. Fr. Mark McQuesten will officiate.

Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway.
