Mrs. Boone was born in Bainbridge, GA on May 11, 1930 to the late Houston and Lucille (Dean) Rogers. She was a retired Cosmetologist and member of the Ft. Cooper Baptist Church of Inverness. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, music, dancing, and spending time with her church family.
Joanne is survived by her two children, Daniel Boone and wife, Donna of St. Petersburg and Deborah "Debi" Vaughan and her husband, Rod of Lakeland, FL; 6 grandchildren, Amy, Ashley, Allyson, Brian, Eric, Rachel; 3 great-grandchildren, Connor, Jackson, Wyatt and twins arriving in January! She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin E. Boone in 2000.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, Oct. 8th at 12:00 Noon from the Ft. Cooper Baptist Church with Pastor Marne Palmani officiating. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 AM until the hour of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Ft. Cooper Baptist Church. Chas E. Davis Funeral Home is assisting the family.
