PORT JERVIS — Mr. Kenneth A. McKane of Gordon, GA and formally of Port Jervis, NY died Friday, October 2, 2015 at Medical Center of Central Georgia, Macon, GA. He was 78.
He was born July 24, 1937 in Port Jervis, NY the son of the late William and the late Emma Spangenberg McKane.
Kenneth married his loving wife, Harriet F. Conklin, on April 5, 1958 in Port Jervis, NY.
He was worked in the Maintenance Department at C & D Battery for 23 years. He was also in the U.S. Army Reserves for 6 years.
A family statement read: ‘’Dad loved being a true ‘’ snow bird’’ traveling up and down the east coast in search of that ‘’trophy fish.’’ He was always looking for bargains at yard sales, flea markets and auctions. No sale was too far to travel to and he loved visiting his children and grandchildren along the way. Dad will be greatly missed by many. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all that knew him.’’
Surviving are his wife Harriet McKane at home; his son Bruce Alan McKane and his companion, Robin Belovich of Madrid, NY.; two daughters: Brenda Lynn Goddard and her husband, Red of Montague, NJ and Beth Ann Bolding and her husband, John of Coca, FL; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren and also many nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his two brothers, Tom McKane and Donald ‘’Bucky’’ McKane and his two
sisters, Stella Martin and Carol Presto.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 E. Main St., Port Jervis, NY followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Don Coy officiating.
A burial of cremains will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
