Sharon Clotile (Loftis) Ryan was born on March 31, 1945, in Frederick, Oklahoma to Harvey Stanford and Della Clotile (Dickey) Loftis. She attended Frederick Public School, graduating from Frederick High School with the Class of 1963. She attended Lindenwood College in Saint Charles, Missouri and later transferred to Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor Degree in Education in 1967. After graduating from college, she taught for a year in Ames, Iowa. On July 13, 1968, she and Homer Lynn Ryan were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Frederick, Oklahoma. Sharon taught business at Frederick High School for several years, prior to becoming a stay at home mom and wife. Sharon was active in 4-H and FFA and was an Honorary Member in both the Tillman County 4-H and Frederick FFA. She was Past President of the Weaver and Frederick P.T.A. Sharon was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of Chapter AS of PEO.
She is survived by her husband, Homer Lynn Ryan; her son, Steven Ryan and wife Jennifer of Crested Butte, Colorado; her daughter, Amanda Ryan-Smith and spouse Carolyn Ryan-Smith of Austin, Texas; three grandchildren, Michael Ryan of Gunnison, Colorado, Campbell Ryan of Crested Butte, Colorado and Beatrice Ryan-Smith of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, John Stanford Ryan; and a brother, Max Loftis.
