Margaret was the owner and operator of the Hawthorne Café in Kansas City, MO. She was active in many organizations including; Ozark Prairie Schooners, Elks Lodge Kimberling City, MO, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North America, Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Confederacy. She had lived in the area over 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Merritt; her parents; a brother, William Mike Rodgers; and a sister, Martha Jean Rodgers Beals.
Survivors include: one son, Sam Merritt and wife, Debi; a sister, Helen Mae Adolphsen; one grandson, William Emmet Merritt and wife, Janice and one great grandson, William (CJ) Merritt.
Burial in Philibert Cemetery Kimberling City, MO.
