Columbiana - Carol J. Chamberlin, 93, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, October 6, 2015.
She was born on November 13, 1921 in Leetonia, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mabel and Arthur Wisler, her sister, Givah Holloway, her brother, Arthur Wisler, Jr., her nephew, Jeff Staley, her husbands, Floyd Williamson and Alan Chamberlin.
Carol graduated from Fairfield Township School where she was a violinist and pianist for the school orchestra. She worked for many years as a tax accountant secretary in Columbiana and Youngstown, including the firms of Woodward and Company, Simonton-Jones, Burgeon-Thomas and Hill, Barth, and King.
Her community involvement included her church Sunday School, secretary of the local Ruritans, hostess of the Log Museum in Columbiana and a volunteer at the American Legion. She was an avid reader who enjoyed gardening, playing dominos with friends and family, and talking with her sister, Phyllis, daily. She was a faithful member of the East Fairfield United Methodist Church and lived a life that fostered the values of trusting God and being available to friends and family. Carol maintained a wonderful attitude and outlook throughout her life and is a precious relative and friend to many.
Carol leaves behind her sister Phyllis (Richard) Staley, brother-in-law Walter Holloway and stepsons Raymond (Carren) Chamberlin, Kermit (Sue) Chamberlin, Ronald (Sally) Chamberlin, and Keith (Janice) Chamberlin. She will also be fondly remembered by her nieces Sallie Holloway, Lynda Staley-Jarrold, Michelle Staley, Margaret Smallwood, Jackie Barnes, Helen (Jene) Chadwell, Linda (Leroy) Bertolero, Roberta (John Spears, Diana (Ron) Brozowski. Nephews include Don (Karen) Wisler, Ralph Wisler, Robert (Nicole) Staley, Evan Staley, Robert (Joni) Williamson, Jay (Peggy) Fleming, Paul (Jill) Fleming, David (Diane) Fleming, and Floyd Bibbee.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9 at 11:00 am at East Fairfield United Methodist Church, 45675 State Route 558, New Waterford, OH.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm at Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home, 154 S. Elm Street, Columbiana, OH. There will also be visitation one hour before the service, at 10:00 am at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made in Carol's memory to the East Fairfield United Methodist Church, 45678 State Route 558, New Waterford, OH. 44445.
The family has entrusted Seederly-Mong and Beck Funeral Home in Columbiana, Ohio with the arrangements for their loved one.
