Myrtle L. Allen, 92, Oklahoma City, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020 in her home in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Darrell Norton speaking. Burial will follow services at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Myrtle L. Bogue was born July, 24, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas to Fred Robert and Martha Jean (Rose) Bogue. She attended school in Texas and Oklahoma. Myrtle and Dillard F. Allen were married September 30, 1950 in Vernon, Texas and to this union three daughters and five sons were born. The two were married 54 years, until Dillard’s passing September 7, 2004.

Myrtle worked hard in the home as a loving wife and a dedicated mother, taking care of all her children’s needs. Later, she retired from Jackson County Memorial Hospital where she worked in the housekeeping department 20+ years. She had a passion for crafting, musical concerts, country music, traveling, and especially to visit her grandkids and family members. She was a member of the Thomas Street Church of Christ for many years and the congregation simply adored her for her sweet and kind ways.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dillard F. Allen, mother and step father Martha and Ralph Holland, daughter, Patricia A. Barnett, and son, Dillard Arnold Allen, grandsons Jason W. Adams and Jeffery A. Adams, granddaughter Pamela D. Allen, and great-granddaughter Amy Burns.

She is survived by four sons; W. Lynn Allen of TX, William R. "Bill" Allen and wife Cathy of MN, Leslie D. Allen of Denton, TX, and Russell L. Allen and wife Lisa of Blanchard, OK; two daughters Martha Maurine Washburn of Dennison, TX and Linda Barnes of Burkburnett, TX; nineteen grandchildren and many great and great-great grandchildren; best friend Hazel Russell and special friend Cole Childers.
