Beverly Jo Boyer gained her heavenly wings on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, at the Golden Living Center in Neligh, following a brief, yet valiant battle with cancer. Bev spent her final days surrounded by her family and friends.
Bev was born Dec. 16, 1959, in Norfolk, to Ivan and Elma Freeman. Later, she and her siblings moved to be raised by their grandparents, Emil and Daisy Klug. Bev attended Elkhorn Valley School, and later obtained her GED.
She married her soulmate Eric Kyle Boyer on April 14, 1976, in Meadow Grove. Two children, son Jesse, and daughter Angelique, were born to this union.
Bev touched many lives in her short time on earth, as do most angels in the flesh. She spent many years as a bookkeeper for Midwest Plumbing and Heating, as well as Ace Hardware. Her final years were spent cleaning and caring for many families, both young and old. During these years, Bev forged many friendships and blessed many lives as they did hers, as well. Bev prided herself on serving others and her community, serving over 20 years as an active board member, as well as her dedicated work with the Meadow Grove Booster Club.
Bev loved fishing and being outdoors, but nothing could surpass her love for her family and dearest friends. She devoted her entire life to helping others, never once asking for anything in return. Most would say she was a true angel.
Bev is preceded in death by her spouse, Eric Boyer; her parents, Ivan and Elma Freeman; grandparents Emil and Daisy Klug; and dear sister-in-law, Theresa Freeman.
Survivors include her children, Jesse (Michelle) Boyer of Lincoln, Angelique (Chris) Janovec of Oakdale; grandsons Cody and Gavin of Lincoln; siblings Bob (Beth) Beerman and Marvin (Connie) Beerman of Omaha, Karen (Larry) Sullivan and Jerry Freeman of Norfolk, Larry (Elaine) Freeman of Marshalltown, Iowa, Sandi (Frankie) Maughan, of Neligh, and Gaylen (Dawn) Freeman of Norfolk; and many nieces and nephews.
