Jay W. Shubert, son of the late John E. Shubert and Norma Lewis Overton, was born on Feb. 6, 1952, in Poplar Bluff and died on Sept. 15, 2015, at his residence at the age of 63.

Mr. Shubert worked as a carpenter and was a resident of Puxico.

On May 8, 1978, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Rogers in Kennewick, Wash. Mrs. Shubert survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kenneth Shubert of Puxico, and Chad Shubert of Siloam Springs, Ark.; two daughters, Marcie Smith of Rogers, Ark., and Darla Shubert of Puxico; one brother, Johnny Shubert of Benton, Wash., and one half-brother, Joe Overton of Puxico; three sisters, Evelyn Gladin of Edmonton, Canada, Bevlyn Clark of Wappappello and Patsy Daniels of Poplar Bluff; three half-sisters, Sarah Rogers of Summers, Ark.; Sally Waller and Sandra Julius both of Puxico and three grandchildren.

The family will be holding a private memorial service at a later date.

All arrangements are under the direction of Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
