JERRY E. MONTGOMERY, a resident of Seligman, Missouri, was born June 25, 1945 in Leachville, Arkansas, a son of Jesse Awverghne and Onita Amilene (Thompson) Montgomery. He departed this life Thursday, October 01, 2015 in his home in Seligman, Missouri, at the age of 70 years.
Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for fourteen and a half years, during the Vietnam War and also in the Army National Guard for eight years. He worked as a diesel mechanic, salesman, Alderman and was the Mayor of Seligman, Missouri for many years. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America – Monett Chapter and Bikers Against Child Abuse.
On October 22, 1982, Jerry was united in marriage with Janice Marie (Chisholm) Montgomery who survives him of the home. He is also survived by son, Shayne Martin; daughter, Stacy Montgomery; son, David Rosen and wife Sharon; daughter, Jennifer and husband Nick Simpson; father, Jesse Montgomery; eight grandchildren, Hunter and Diesel Martin, Danny and Zoe Montgomery, Bryten and Jasmine Ziegler, and Camden and Colton Simpson; four brothers, Larry Montgomery, Steve Montgomery, Jim Montgomery, and John Montgomery; and a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Onita Amilene Montgomery and one brother, Tim Montgomery.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Nelson’s Chapel of the Springs, 150 West Van Buren, Eureka Springs, Arkansas 72632 with Mike Avers officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Service.
