Mr. James Edward Dorris, age 90 of Franklin, died Monday, October 5th at the Medical Center in Franklin. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Crafton Funeral Home where services will be held Wednesday at 2pm with burial to follow in Hillsdale Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the Simpson County Honor Guard. A native of Warren County, he was the son of the late Olden McClain Dorris and Ica Ferrell Dorris. He was a mechanic and an Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by a daughter – Gilda Joyce Dorris, sisters – Lucy Turner and Bertha Reeder, brothers– Eugene Dorris, Bobby Dorris and Charles Dorris; a half sister – Mary Brigance; a half brother – Walter Dorris. Survivors include his wife – Mary Lucille Uhls Dorris of Franklin; 1 sister – Brenda Dorris of Franklin; 2 brothers – Gordon Dorris of Huntsville, Alabama and Thomas Dorris of Lebanon, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm Tuesday and after 6am Wednesday at Crafton Funeral Home.
