MARION MCGEE OBITUARY
LEXINGTON — Marion W. McGee, age 70, died September 26, 2009, at his home after a long illness.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 30 at Floyd Funeral Home Chapel, in Olanta, S.C. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Born in Florence County, in the town of Scranton, he was a son of the late Marion Elisha McGee and Mazie Mackey McGee Singletary, and the stepson of the late John G. Singletary.

Marion retired after 33 years from International Bio Synthetics in Kingstree, S.C. He was a 1958 graduate of Lake City High School, a graduate of Carolina College of Commerce, and served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of sergeant.

On December 23, 1962, he was united in marriage to Aileen Carol Thomas formerly of Olanta, S.C. He was a current member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church in Lexington, S.C., and a long time member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Turbeville, S.C.

He leaves behind his wife Carol Thomas McGee, a son, Michael Thomas McGee and his wife Kimberly Myers McGee, and granddaughter, McKayla Shane McGee, all of Lexington, S.C., a sister, Natalie McGee McCall of Atlanta, Ga., and stepsister, Bellemont Singletary Cantley of Scranton, S.C.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Foundation, The American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
