Margaret Lively McKenzie, age 77, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Monday, October 5, 2015. She was born on February 1, 1938 in Columbus, the daughter of the late Dewey and Phoebe Taylor Lively. Margaret retired as Postmaster at Whelen Springs where she had served for thirty-five years. She was a member of Whelen Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, traveling and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Marve C. McKenzie, Jr., four brothers, Richard, James Bill and Bo and her sister, Janie.

She is survived by one daughter, Michaelyn McKenzie Morehead of Arkadelphia, two sons, Mike (Kim) McKenzie and Miles McKenzie of Gurdon, one brother, Tommy (Sylvia) Lively of White Hall, half brother, Robert Lively of Hope, three half sisters, six grandchildren, Lynsey (Mitch) Plyler, Krista (Tom) Trevorrow, Taylor Morehead, Beau (Torri) McKenzie, Tori (Jake) Davis and Ashley McKenzie, four great grandchildren, Noah, Tessa and Karah Plyler and Adah McKenzie and many loved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at Whelen Springs Baptist Church with Randy Cox and Rusty Jones officiating.

Interment will be in Bethlehem Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.
