Jessie worked for General Electric/ Wellman's in Shelbyville for 30 years until her retirement in 1985. She was a member of the Sandusky United Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star for more than 50 years, Clinton Twp. Extension Homemakers Club, Charter Member of the Decatur County V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and an avid quilter always involved in the Presbyterian Church Quilt Club.
Survivors include her daughter Bonita (Dudley) Myers of Greensburg, her son Ronald (Sylvia) Hampton of Noblesville, two sisters Kathryn Moore and Norma Wagner, one brother Robert White, five grandchildren – Julie Myers, Tammy (David) Baluyot, Tara Bredensteiner, Amanda (Jason) Lawson and Paul (Laura) Hampton II, and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her sister Rosamond Beard, three infant brothers and one brother Elven Porter Lee.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015, from 10AM until the start of the funeral service 12PM at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Sandusky United Methodist Church.
