I Certify That Andrew Frederick, a Private of Captain E. Y. Mathey’s Company "K" of the Seventh Regiment of Cavalry, born in Bedford Co., in the state of Pennsylvania aged 37 years, five feet 3½ inches high, light complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair, and by profession a Soldier, was enlisted by Lieut Nave at Fort A. Lincoln, D. T. on the first day of May, eighteen hundred and Seventy seven, to serve for five years, who died in Post Hospital at Fort Totten, D. T. of Pyaemia, Jany 14/81.
