Elizabeth (Betsy) Lee Holbrook Underwood, of Myrtle Beach, SC, passed away at her home on October 1, 2015.

Mrs. Underwood was born October 17, 1942 in Albemarle, NC. She graduated from Coker College in 1965 with an Education degree. She lived in various cities throughout the United States, most recently in Nashville, TN before moving to Myrtle Beach, SC. She enjoyed teaching and substitute teaching especially at the high school level. Other activities included gardening, spending time with her family, traveling and spending time at the beach.

The family will receive family and friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel officiated by Albin Greenwood. A luncheon reception will follow at 1:00 PM at Tillery Tradition Country Club.

Survivors include husband, John (Jeff) Jefferson Underwood III, two daughters, Mij Kritzman and husband David Kritzman, and Joy Underwood and husband Ken S. Whitehouse, four grandchildren, Morgan and Mark Kritzman and Addie and Edith Whitehouse, a sister, Molly Thomas Birchler, and a brother, Gus Holbrook.
