September 16, 1938 - Carroll Daily Herald - Sister M Salesia who had been at the St Francis school at Maple River for only a month, died in her sleep Thursday night. As she had not been ill, her sudden death came as a shock to her associates and friends.

Sister Salesia was 69 years old. Funeral services will be held at the St Anthony hospital chapel Monday morning and burial will be in the Catholic cemetery here.

Sister M Salesia, who was a member of the Neuman family, was born at Sherrill, Iowa near Dubuque April 25, 1869. She entered St Rose Convent at Lacrosse, WI in 1891, making her profession as a Sister of Franciscan order in 1894.

Since that time she had done housework in parishes in the states of Wisconsin and Iowa, having come to St Francis parish at Maple River in August.

Sister M Salesia is survived by several brothers living at Sherrill, Iowa. Her survivors also include a niece, Sister M Petra and a grand niece, Sister M Vincentia, both of whom are members of the Franciscan Order.
