Russell (Lee) Hubbard, 79, was born December 16, 1935 in Hazelwood, IN to the late William R. and Essie P. Hubbard. Lee graduated from Stilesville High School where he played basketball and was president of his senior class. He began his career as a farmer and then worked for various fertilizer companies in sales. Lee started his own fertilizer company in 1965 and created Lee Hubbard & Son in 1974. After selling the company he was then owner and operator of Nutra-Lawn and Arrow Fence Company until 1996. He worked in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina for several years. He currently worked in Nebraska with John Pflasterer and enjoyed his work there. Lee served as president of the Lions Club, Band Boosters and Stilesville Alumni Association. Lee was an adventuresome spirit and loved to explore new places. His fun loving spirit, personality and knowledge will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by siblings, Bernadine Isenberg and Robert Ray Hubbard. Funeral services will be Friday, October 9, at 2:00 pm at Hazelwood Christian Church, where friends may call from 11:00 am until service time at 2:00 pm. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery. Survivors include children, Joy Lee Kivett and Steven Jay (Neena) Hubbard; step children, Angie Nellinger and Ryan O'Neal; grandchildren, Nathan and Reagan Hubbard, Allyson and Jonny Nellinger; former wives, Betty Clearwater Cooper, Shirley Seckman Hubbard and Cherri Hubbard; special friend, Marlys Bockelman; and several nieces and nephews.
